Ridership Skyrockets on Water’s Edge Shuttle to PATH Station

Harrison, New Jersey is hot! According to numerous news reports, the redevelopment of the Harrison PATH Station is contributing to a renaissance in the town. Water’s Edge, a new 141-unit residential community located along the scenic Passaic Riverfront is part of the boom.

Water’s Edge was built by New Jersey-based BNE Real Estate Group and features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments at reasonable rents, far less than those in New York City. It is just four stops and a 20-minute train from the Freedom Tower at One World Trade Center. Being that close to Manhattan makes the property very attractive to people who commute there. BNE wanted to take advantage of the proximity to the PATH Station, so they went looking for a company to establish a shuttle service. Their search led them to EZ Ride which provides shuttle services for many residential communities in Bergen, Essex, and Hudson counties.

PATH Shuttle Attracts New Residents to Water’s Edge in Harrison

The Water’s Edge complex reached 100 percent occupancy just eight months after opening. And no wonder, with first-class amenities that include a state-of-the-art fitness center, a landscaped terrace, heated outdoor pool with a fire pit and a WiFi Business Lounge.

Young professional couples are among the diverse group that has made Water’s Edge their new home. The proximity to the PATH Station, just a 20-minute ride to Manhattan is one of the attractions, as is the renaissance taking place in Harrison, which is nestled between Newark and New York City. There has been a significant uptick in development as developers, and new residents anticipate the positive changes to the community being driven by the $256 million reconstruction of the Harrison PATH station. It has become an axiom that Harrison is “the new Hoboken,” the city eight miles south in Hudson County that has seen significant growth and revitalization over the past 20 years.

“Harrison is becoming a very desirable place to live, and we are thrilled to be helping make that happen. We are committed to developing innovative, well-thought-out residences located near mass transit that meets the needs of today’s sophisticated renter.”

EZ Ride Shuttle Eases Commute for Water’s Edge Residents

As Harrison attracts new residents, access to public transit becomes an important factor since commuting by car is becoming less desirable, especially with the Millennial Generation. The success of the Water’s Edge EZ Ride shuttle exemplifies this trend. The daily ridership on the shuttle has averaged at 180 during the first five months of operation and has remained at that record level.
