Super Bowl XLVIII – an eagerly anticipated event
Super Bowl fever is already alive and certainly kicking - with towns and municipalities in New Jersey getting ready for Super Bowl XLVIII to be played on Feb. 2, 2013 at the Met Life stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
As the 48th Super Bowl heads to New Jersey, chances are, they will be in for a few surprises. It will be the first time in 38 years to be played outdoors on artificial turf and the first in which two US states (New York and New Jersey) will work together with hosting duties. Because it will be held outside, planners say there may be logistical issues that could arise that no other Super Bowl has ever experienced, including the possibility of holding the in-stadium halftime show in extremely frigid, inclement weather.
But no doubt these conditions won’t hinder die-hard fans who will travel anywhere to be at the NFL final game of the year.
New Jersey and New York can together expect to gain financially from the game to the tune of approximately $550 million from both the game and the related events.
Attendees will be able to enjoy all that NJ/NY has to offer in one of the most interesting and diverse areas in the country. There is something for everyone’s taste, age or interest. It’s all here!
